Goldfinch
This is one of my favorites among the yellow peonies. Without any dark flares, it has a very cheery presentation. The flowers are mostly held just slightly above the foliage and don’t have quite as much tendency to “nod” as in some of the other cultivars. The more downward facing flower form has been termed by at least one hybridizer as the “lutea hook”. When present, it makes viewing or photographing the flowers rather difficult.
