Other collectors have commented on two forms of ‘Janice’ being in circulation and, indeed, my plants from different sources do not appear to be identical. However, ‘Janice’ fades to a silvery pink as it ages so a large planting will show different flower colors. (Photo on right taken at Winterthur. The darker pink flowers in the center may be the elusive ‘Gillian’ if an old map of the plantings is correct. It was not labeled. I am investigating whether the first ‘Janice’ I received might in fact be ‘Gillian’.)
I cannot see any difference in the flowers of this ‘Janice’ and those of ‘Queen Rose’. However the terminal leaves of ‘Queen Rose’ show some shallow notching whereas those of ‘Janice’ do not. Any comments would be appreciated.
